i got a new phone (3gs 8gb), because this one has lots of issues. a cracked screen, the silver rim part is seperating from the back cover, vibrate makes lots of noise, etc.
how do i open it w/o a suction cup?
ideas to use this:
-media player
-gps
-run linux or android or (even better) win 95...
- overclock the $#%* out of it and put the latest ios on it.
which would work?

put packing tape over the entire screen to keep cracked pieces together then make a loop of tape at bottom edge that you can then use as handle to pull up the glass. Or you can use a very thin blade/pocketknife (swiss army are good) and lift screen from bottom edge. If you put knife inbe careful doing this not to damage the rubber seal around display.
You can easily try to fix the bezel and vibrate while you've got display off.

this is a good idea...i got another one exactly like it with a cracked screen, i will try that one instead!
so do i put it over just the bottom or the entire screeeeen?
put it over entire screen for better leverage
i have a iphone 3ga 8gb i got it from a friend and it dident work when he got it it did'nt work either so i dont know what is wrong with it so i took it apart and the ribben that goes to the wake/sleep button is riped so do you know if i can replace just that ribbon?
