How To Fix Loose Charging Port and sometimes '0% plugged in,charging'?

Hi, I have a Lenovo G560 and it is a bit dodgy. Before discovering that my laptop had a loose charging port, I noticed that sometimes it would charge and sometimes it wouldn't. When it was low there was a red flashing light on the row of 4 lights (from left to right; a power light, a battery light, an internet access light and another light I could not understand). The first time, the battery would leak very fast, then enter a sleep mode (I think). After a while, if it was charging, it would turn back on, but if it wasn't I had to force shut down it (by pressing and holding down the power button). When it turned back on, the laptop showed '0%, plugged in, charging' but it wouldn't charge. For the first time, I shut down then turned on the laptop and then it went back to normal. But on the second time, it started charging after 5-10 minutes, all the way to 100% battery.

Please help me! I only have one laptop and my whole family uses it. I need it for my school education. Please respond ASAP...

Hello guys, thanks for your help, I am so grateful. However, I have another problem: today the same problem as in my first comment but it has not charged fully, it's still at 0% battery and the charging cable is very hot near to the charging port and I had to reposition it many times and it's still not working!!???

Also, I have watched the first 2 videos L Pfaff had linked and it was done by professionals. I don't think I can do this and they were both American companies. Do you think it would be better to send it to repair or to buy a new laptop? Help I don't know what to do??!?!! :/

S Seth, If you really do not want to try repair yourself pop into a (local) computer repair shop and have them take a look and estimate repair, not positive I believe the repair was approx 1 to 1.5 hours to solder in a jack stating price of $69 in 1st vid, and $100 w/shipping in 2nd, parts and labor. The 3rd link shows the jack assy. which would not need soldered as it includes the wires and plug already attached to the jack and would make it an easy install for you to try. Good luck.

For some reason unknown to me, today my laptop is functioning fine just like any other day! This may happen tomorrow and thanks for all the support L Pfaff! Will give an update tomorrow.

Solução escolhida

Thank you to everyone, however I have found out the real solution. After replacing the power jack, my Lenovo was still not charging. After researching a little, I found out that my charger could be in need of replacement. So I bought a multi-meter/volt-meter and tested its voltage - it was meant to have an output of 20V but it outputted 0.2V. Then I bought a new charger and it worked!

Thanks all once again!
