Can I replace just the keyboard on this model?
Hello all. I accidentally spilled beer on my wife's MBP (13", Mid 2010). After shutting down the power and letting it dry upside down for several days, I tried to turn it on using the power button but nothing happened. I did some research and got it to power on by shorting the power-on pads. But, the keyboard has issues. The power button doesn't work. There is a shift key that is permanently stuck (even when I force each shift key up, it is still registering as if it is pressed down). A couple letter keys don't work. Several of the function keys on the top row don't work. And when I do the four-finger swipe up for Mission Control and click on a window everything moves very slowly (I'm thinking this has to do with some keys being depressed--any thoughts here?). I don't think the logic board has issues. My question: Can I replace just the keyboard? Then I wouldn't have to spend many more dollars on a new upper case. It seems like this would take care of the keys and the power button. I would be taking a chance that the beer didn't get much deeper to cause problems later.
Thanks.
P.S. I'm only a novice when it comes to taking apart computers, but with the videos and guides I'm willing to make the attempt. Would I need an anti-static band?
Esta é uma boa pergunta?
