I was driving one day and my check gauges light came on in my 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 6 cylinder 4x4 and when I push on my brakes on my gauges go down to zero and then when I step on my gas if they don't go back up to normal and then like a mile down the road it died on me and my alternator is good they say and they said my battery is good

A check gauges light usually comes on if your oil pressure is extremely low. Check the oil level......
