Solução escolhida

I have found my case ))))) It was not kext , but simply this ---

go to Finder/Hard Drive /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and delete the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist and com..apple.AutoWake.plist files (if your Mac asks, type your admin. password).

If the latter file isn't present in the folder, go to user name(probably your name)/Library/Preferences, delete the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file, and reboot your Mac.

Such a long time i was looking for the solution everywhere, and in fact it was so easy !

SAFE BOOT

- you apparently have an Extension or Font conflict. Starting up into Safe Mode does several things:

  • It forces a directory check of the startup volume.
  • It loads only required kernel extensions (some of the items in /System/Library/Extensions).
  • In Mac OS X v10.3.9 or earlier, Safe Mode runs only Apple-installed startup items (such items may be installed either in /Library/StartupItems or in /System/Library/StartupItems; these are different than user-selected account login items).
  • It disables all fonts other than those in /System/Library/Fonts (Mac OS X v10.4 or later).
  • It moves to the Trash all font caches normally stored in /Library/Caches/com.apple.ATS/(uid)/ , where (uid) is a user ID number such as 501 (Mac OS X v10.4 or later).
  • It disables all startup items and login items (Mac OS X v10.4 or later).
  • Mac OS X v10.5.6 or later: A Safe Boot deletes the dynamic loader shared cache at (/var/db/dyld/). A cache with issues may cause a blue screen on startup, particularly after a Software Update. Restarting normally recreates this cache.

Taken together, these changes can help resolve software or directory issues that may exist on the startup volume.

What you can do is boot your PBG4 and make a list, (Applications->Utilities->System Profiler->Software:Extensions) of all the extensions found there. You can "save the file as text" to edit with Text editor or word Processor to copy or print just the Extensions.

Do the same from Safe Boot and compare them. There's a conflict probably with an intel Extension (my hunch is display) or a screen saver extension though it could be a Font. that is removed during safe boot, Knowing you loaded a program with Fonts or Screen Savers before this behavior started should help focus your troubleshooting.

Remove that extension OR font entirely and you should be back to sleeping during a normal boot.

Remember to return and mark accepted the answer that best solves your problem.

Good luck,

N.

Any kext

file that has to be reinstalled manually can be handled this way: Copy them back into the System/Library/Extensions/ folder on your hard disk. You can bookmark this folder in the Finder if you like. For each operation, OS X will ask you for your password and you have to log in.

After copying the kext files, you have to delete the kext-cache, so that the new kexts will be added by the system when it rebuilds the cache next boot. The two files are /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache and /System/Library/Extensions.mkext To do this, just drag them into trash.

Then launch /Applications/Utilities/ Disk Utility->DFA & Repair Permissions. This is necessary for your moved kexts, so that the system will load them when you start OS X.

Last, in order to load the reinstalled kexts, restart.

I have tried to do what you said ,and there are a quite big difference between extensions from safe boot , i was looking carefully trough all of them but i didn't see anything related to the font or display or screen saver ) mostly they are audio extensions,I am afraid to delete them without knowing what am i doing ..... Or should i try to delete all of them ? Also, that sleeping problem started may be a year ago or little more, and most of extensions they are from 2005 year last date modified, so all of them from same date ,except 2 of them - one is /System/Library/Extensions/AudioIPCDriver.kext,and other is /System/Library/Extensions/NTIBDDriver.kext - and integrity of this one unknown . That is all i could understand for now ,what would you recommend me to do next ?

por

Not DELETE - just move to a different folder! That way you can put them back I called mine "Extensions Disabled" but as long as it's not Called Extensions you could name it anything. That NTIBDDriver is a video driver, and it may be the culprit. Try removing that one and see what happens.

por

i removed this[ NTIBDDriver] ,and [AudioIPCDriver.kext] this one i removed too , restarted, but it didnt help . I made a list of kext wich are not in a safe boot extensions ')))) may be you would tell me which could possibly cause a problem ? I do not have idea myself ) to move all of them would not be the best option ,what you think ?This is a list----

ALso, what i have notice - system profiler doesn't show all of the kext ! I have seen some more kext in S/L/E/ folder ! What does that mean ?

por

This one is a video driver GeForce.kext if your machine runs in Safe Boot without it remove it from your Extensions folder after a normal boot. Reboot & see what happens. If you don't have Bluetooth installed you don't need IOBluetoothFamily.kex. 'What is the full path of the S/L/E/ folder?

Try going under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to System Preferences -> System -> Accounts -> to your user account then at the top click on Login items and see if there is something there affecting the monitor.
