iPhone 6s proximity sensor not working after screen replacement

I changed my iPhone 6s screen and after changing it the proximity sensor doesn’t work fine. I record a voice memo and try to put my finger on the top of the screen (just above the headphones) and it doesn’t work which is the normal place of the sensor. I put my finger just an inch down (exactly where the display starts) and the sensor works but much less sensitive than the normal and in the wrong place. I made sure that the sensor is placed perfectly in place, i also tried changing the screen (from the same supplier) and also tried changing the front camera flex and I still have the same problem.

try to paint that sensor window with a sharpie, see it might help.

in my case it started working only after i did a full reset through out DFU mode.

non-original screen , original flex cable ( sensor )

Some low-cost screen assemblies do not include the brackets for holding the camera and sensors in place. That makes folding the sensor flex and staying in place very difficult. As @gedo1992 says, if you have to move the bracket/holder, you need to secure it to the screen frame.

Take a look at the image below and notice the brackets and how the flex is folded. Everything should fit into place and not move at all.

Normally, your proximity sensor should not be down so low that it only works near the screen edge (or twisted to face lower down the screen).

Perhaps you have folded the flex too tightly which can also cause problems. But I suspect that the sensor is just not at the right place. When in doubt, check it again.

Hi, did you make sure you glued down the proximity sensor holder? If not this could be the issue.

If that's not the issue, it's your suppliers screens, try somewhere else. :-)
