Weird random reboots under load.
I have a iphone 6 that will essentially get stuck in a boot loop randomly when switching between apps like skype and steam chat.
Most of the time the phone will simply reboot, a spot under the display getting noticeably warm during the boot, maybe about half a inch under the earpiece.
There are times the phone will go into a complete boot loop until it has been on the charger for a while "usually while waiting for a restore file to download in itunes", then it will just boot like normal. The phone will NOT go into recovery while boot looping, and it is difficult to get it into DFU mode.
Is it possible whoever refurbished the phone cheaped out on the battery replacement? Or maybe the stock battery is simply going bad? It almost seems like the phone is not getting the correct voltage and pushing the hardware causes it to crash.

Out of curiosity I decided to pop open the device to see whats up under the hood.
Something that caught my eye was this whiteish residue around the left side of the battery. There was some on the battery itself and quite a bit spewed up onto the screen above. It originated from the left side of the battery and spewed inwards toward the center of the battery. Is this the start of a failure?
Another thing I noticed was the lack of adhesive pull tabs...humm.
The battery is labeled like a official one... but now I have my suspicions.

Whenever I see reboots a lot the first thing I try is a battery replacement. Also, a lot of times when places put a "new battery" in it will have Apple branding on it and has been pulled from an Apple device or its a "high quality copy". I am currently using the app "battery percentage" from the App Store to tell me how much my battery can hold. It's the most accurate one I've used when compared to desktop programs to determine battery health. The odd thing is when it shuts down under strain but to me it does sound like a battery issue.
