My Dell Venue 8 7840 tablet doesn't seem to charge. Nothing happens when I plug my charger in the charger port. I know that it should show a notification that it's charging, but its not.

Hi Donnelle,
Check if the charger port has any dirt accumulated inside of it because that can prevent it from charging properly. You should also see if the software is up to date because it is the software that decides if your tablet is going to charge. One other thing you can do is to check if the problem is with the charger itself. Use the charger with another device with the same port and see if it works. I hope this helps.

My micro USB port was hard to charge, angling the cable plug. Then I discovered the port has broken. Center prongs have come loose and fell out. No replacement parts available so far.

Every Dell 7840 I have owned has had a broken charging port. It takes 13 months for it to finally break. Dell's warranty is 12 months. Repair companies don't know how to fix it, and Dell charges too much . I would love to find a reputable company to fix it at a fair price.

What is the history on the device? Has it ever been dropped, wet, etc. Does this happen no matter which wifi you try to access or only on certain ones? What you're describing, sounds to me like a virus is potentially impacting your internet connectivity. Also, seeing your other two questions, I would suggest combining those and inserting the relevant device history.
