Do all 17" Intel iMacs use the same screen?
Does the 17" iMac 2GHz Core 2 Duo use the same screen as the 17" iMac 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo?

There are three different suppliers of screens for these machines. Chi Mi, LG and Samsung.

I should have put it more bluntly...I want to put a good screen from a 1.83 core duo into a 2Ghz Core 2 Duo iMac- both 17". Core 2 has infamous vertical line problem.

I have found the G5 imac screens can be put into the intel C2D imacs. They both had the LG philips screens LM171W02 but the intel lcd had a later production month and the letters on the end were different. The troubled lcd's had (TT) (A1) at the end. All you do is swap the support-carraige and the video cable and inverter from your intel lcd onto the G5 lcd. When I peeled back the foil from the G5 lcd which completely covers the G5 lcd back, it had the same part number quoted above and the video cable slot is in the same position on both lcd's so it is a simple swap. Ebay has regular dead G5's and they go for parts cheap. It is hit and miss though. I have got a couple, one was isight, that was dead all round, except for the inverter. Good luck.

I guess this means...do all the 17" iMacs use the same screen - regardless of processor?
