In this step, the front-facing camera and sensor cable are disconnected.
I would like to know if the front camera is able to function without this cable being connected. I would like to disable my front camera.

In my opinion it is stupid to disable the camera for "privacy" reasons. You are not that important and if people really want to screw you, they'd do it through your mic, not your camera.
Removing the front sensor flex may cause system errors that continually drain battery, unable to use the prox sensor and the earpiece speaker during a call. Just tape the camera over, instead of this pointlessly overkill.

My reason for removing the front camera isn't for privacy reasons, it is an operational requirement. Chill :) Thanks for the information regarding the removal of the sensor flex.

The phone will work without the front camera flex connected. However, be aware that your voice dictation mic (siri mic), proximity sensor and earpiece speaker (not loud speaker) will not work. Is there an issue with the front camera?

Does the front camera still work without the flex ? I wish to disable the front camera.
No, the front camera will not work without the flex being plugged in
But, the rest of the things that I mentioned above won't either

Apparently the phone will be stuck at the apple logo if the sensor cable is not connected. Is this supposed to be the case ?

I think it will be best if u didn't do that and an expert did cause like u
can get electrified and that could lead u to certain death cause I have seen this happen

Ummm..... The battery is only about 4 volts.... You can't get killed by this unless you stab the battery repeatedly with a knife and it blows up...

LOLA has seen people be electrocuted by a phone? I've shocked myself more times than I can count. Heck...you can't even feel the low voltage on a phone.
OP: I wouldn't disconnect the whole cable. Besides the errors it could throw, your screen would be on all the time on calls. Its annoying.
