Is this worth fixing?

3 days ago, My Macbook started crashing (giving me the Gray Screen of Death), but as long as I keep the internet off, it wouldn't crash. Last night my computer just shut off and now isn't turning on. Macbook doesn't even turn on. I push the power button, and the sleep light on the front comes on, but nothing happens. The screen stays black. No chime or tone or anything. It wasn't dropped, nor was anything spilled on it. My computer is 4 years old.

I tried unplugging it and remove the battery and holding down the start button for ten seconds. Still nothing. I also tried starting up from my system installation disk, still didn't go any further. and now my disk is stuck. Another thing I tried is starting up holding down the Option & Command and P and R keys. Still nothing.

The last 3 numbers of my S/N are U9C

I think it's a power control issue. Maybe I'm wrong on that? is it easily and/or cheaply fixed, or is this part of the logic board?

If it is the logic board, is it worth replacing on an old, 4 year old computer or just get a new one? I'm really at a loss for what to do here!

This question seems very familiar. Did you erase the first question and my answers?

The first one had gotten off track, hard for me to follow, and wasn't really answering my question. So i deleted it, compiled all the info here, and though I'd try again to see if i can get a more concise and applicable answer... I've tried just about every trick in the book that anyone and every has suggested (before anyone suggested them on here), thats not what I need help with. I need to know If I'm right in the power control board/Power Management Unit being the problem (not the AC Port), and if it is, is it easily and cheaply fixed or is the computer pretty much gone?

You have a :Apple MacBook "Core Duo" 2.0 13" (White) Specs

Identifiers: MacBook - MA255LL/A - MacBook1,1 - A1181 - 2092

First there is no separate part called a "power control board". The AC adapter (MagSafe) connects to the MagSafe DC-IN Board Apple part (922-7384). This connects to the logic board.

Here's a blow up of all the parts: http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/lovemacs_2127_24...

Ok, so it's not a quick/cheap fix. That's all I needed to know!

Well it's a relatively cheap fix at $28 +. It takes me about 30 minutes to install one. Here's the part: MacBook MagSafe DC-In Board

Here's how to do it: MacBook Core Duo MagSafe Board Replacement
