USB Flash Drive only recognized on one specific port?

Ok, here goes: I used Dasboot to create a bootable Flashdrive with Diagnostic and repair utilities. The installation went fine and the Flash Drive is indeed bootable and applications are functioning. But, I noticed one slight problem. The USB Flash Drive that I used only works if I use the same port that I used when I Partitioned and formatted the drive, if I use the other USB Port Snow wont even recognize the Flashdrive. I have tried several PRAM resets, SMC resets, no dice. I also tried several other USB devices on the same port that won't recognize the flashdrive and all the other devices work and are recognized, so the Port is functioning properly. Has anyone had this experience before? How was it resolved? I guess it is more of a nuisance that a real problem, but I would like to know why this is happening and what can I do to have the other port recognize the drive as I use the other port for a USB hub and a laptop cooler, so real-estate is a concern. Thanks in advance for your help and I appreciate any help advice offered. I suspect it's some type of power issue, but my iphone charges and works fine on the Port in question.

How was the drive formatted?

Mac Extended ( Journaled), GUID scheme. The drive works fine on the other port, boots up properly and works, it's just not recognized on the other port.

LOL Rich, I tried a little research before I asked here, but came up dry. After a little experimentation with the keywords, I was able to dig up some info.

Solução escolhida

This article sheds a little light on my situation. I had no idea this was the case with Macs.

Only one of the USB hubs offers a full powered, full speed bus.

That's good to know. Don't suppose you know if that is common practice for laptop manufacturers?

As a matter of fact it is. It's something that wasn't discovered till 2009, but Macbook Pro's, MacPros, Minis, and PC's, they all have this USB Port issue. Apple kept this quiet, and I think it's bad practice. Many people had issues with Hubs and external HD's because of this. At least documenting it to the consumer instead of causing confusion with peripherals and compatibility concerns would of been nice.

Just Google, "are all USB Ports equally powered". there are several articles about this.
