Why are my games so slow?

When I first got my PC it was running great. It had Windows 8 and I would play many games on it. Then Windows 10 came out and of course I got it. I hated it. I didn't realise I could go back to Windows 8 so I stuck with it. Now that I have Windows 10 my games are either super laggy or they just don't work. Please help!
