Hello, I got 1 iphone 6 that got shorted when inserting AUX from surroundsystem,Ive tried new screen(the one on worked tried it on another phone) new battery new chargeport, no life in it at all, no damage on motherboard what I can see, is it just done or can I do something else?

and I got 1 that is water damaged, I sanitized it in isopropnol in a ultrasonic cleanser, and tested new screen new battery new chargeport without any succes. I noticed a damage on the motherboard? probably from the motherboard shorting after all the water?

Is there something I can do?

@kallol3 if iTunes is recognizing it, the boards alive and kicking. You just can't interact with it through the display assembly, for reasons unknown to me at the moment. Did your phone also recieve water damage? If so take a look at the front and back of the board. Does it look clean? Are there signs of water damage, what color is the stickers? If no water damage, find a known good display, to test your device. If there are signs of water damage, stop putting electricity in it!! Remove the board and you could maybe get away with 90% isopropyl alcohol or higher and a toothbrush. You'll likely want to remove the shields and have it run through an ultrasonic bath. With distilled water and electronics cleaner. Then purge those things with isopropyl alcohol. Then dry for a reasonable amount of time. So as not to incur any further damage

Hey. Thanks so much for the reply.

But no water damage at all. The power and mic ic chips are working fine. The technician said the problem is with the cpu which is pasted to the motherboard apparently. But if that is the case would iTunes know when I plug the phone in ?

The phone has been totally dead in all other senses otherwise.

When I had first plugged in the aux, there was a loud static noise and I didn't even realize when the phone went off.

@swedtech the picture of board #2 was hopefully taken before you cleaned it. there is plenty of corrosion that can shorten out any component. You must remove the EMI shields if you really want to clean the board. Only after that can you properly evaluate any damage.

For board #1 it would help if you can tell us how you shorted it out from the AUX from surroundsystem. Let us know how you connected it. You did not tell us if it gets recognized by your computer when you plug it in. You remove the EMI shields and take a look at all the components.

On the second board, take off board from the phone and do one more time iso cleaner then brush it with a soft tooth brush to clean some residu that may move to short other component.

I could see some component shorts cause by some residu, have look on a bit white area try to check with multimeter. also check on big capacitor near wifi ic, if it shorted just remove it.

Good luck bro

Same problem as phone 1.

It's getting recognised by iTunes though.

Is it a problem with the cpu chip?

I don't know what to do. Please help.

It's an iPhone 6
