Dishwasher won't drain after end of cycle

I can't get this dishwasher to drain at all, I have to pump it out by hand or it overflows. Each time I run a cycle, it leaves more water in the tub after the cycle finishes, starting with about an inch or so, maybe more. This has progressively been getting worse for about a month now, to the point where the unit cannot be used at all without recirculating old water and risking overflow.

I've checked and cleaned the sump filters and removed a few obstructions. I replaced the drain solenoid, which appears to be working correctly. Today I removed the unit from under the counter and disassembled the drain pump/circulation assembly and removed some obstructions from the impeller and surrounding pipes, including a random screw, and cleaned the filter around the impeller. I also removed and checked the drain hose, which did not have any clogs or apparent kinks. After reassembly I ran a rinse cycle and can see that the drain pump motor and solenoid are working during this time, but no water is drained. I've double checked that the drain hose has a high point under the sink before it connects to the garbage disposal, and I have checked to make sure there is no drain plug still installed in the garbage disposal. I've checked the float manually and it appears to be working, at least when I tap on it it goes down and pops right back up.

Short of taking a high-caliber rifle to it to see if that fixes the problem, I'm out of answers. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

And I forgot to mention that the unit does not have an air gap, at least not that I can find.

Is there a way to run diagnostics to determine any of these?

Same problem, and it is not normal to have water in the bottom at the end of a cycle. I say that because mine drains sometime and other times it does not. When it drains there is no water. I have had the controller replaced, and a water valve, it made no difference.

Cause 1

Drain Pump

The drain pump uses an impeller to force water through the drain hose. If the drain pump motor is not working, the dishwasher won’t drain. To determine if the drain pump is defective, check the pump motor for continuity using a multimeter. If the motor does not have continuity, or if is getting power but won’t run, replace the drain pump. Drain pumps are not repairable—if the drain pump is defective, you must replace it.

Cause 2

Drain Impeller

The drain impeller pushes water through the drain hose and into the garbage disposer or drain line. If the impeller is broken, replace it.

Cause 3

Drain Solenoid Kit

The drain solenoid opens the drain valve to allow the water to exit the dishwasher. If the drain solenoid fails the valve will not open causing the dishwasher not to drain.

If I can physically see the motor working during the drain cycle, as in spinning, could it still be defective?

Also, please read my whole post. You'll see that I've (likely) eliminated all 3 of your causes already.

Yes, I'm having same issue, no blockage in any line and in midcycle rinse the water is getting drained (indicating the motor is working and impeller is working along with solenoid)but its the last cycle when the drain doesn't happen.

I’m having the same problem, the last rinse the water goes out and when the dishwasher stops, there is still standing water in the bottom.

por

@diosburn it's normal to have a small amount of water in the bottom

Same here. I have to restart it after I unload the clean dishes, cancel, and it drains.
