When copying music from my pc, S7 stops receiving

When copying music from my pc via usb, my S7 connects but then stops receiving and my pc shows a message stating mobile device is no longer connected (even though it is and is still open) Please could someone let me know the quick fix for this? (as I know there will be one!)
