Could I send my Ds in for repair also would it be possible to repair a DSi XL that has been snapped in half? The speakers also do not work

How long ago was it purchased? If it was bought within the last year, there is a better chance you can send it into Nintendo. The next best thing would be going to a local game repair shop as @ym3k suggested.
You will also want to keep the DS closed, in order to minimize damage to the ribbon cable connecting the upper screen to the motherboard. The less the upper part moves until your DS is fixed, the better.
