If your running windows, you'll have to get on another system and probably need to download the proper wifi driver, copy it onto a USB stick, then on the gateway run the driver install. I get several systems in, especially Dell's, and depending on the model have to download both the ethernet and wifi driver's this way -- using a different system to download - then run the installer on the machine with missing drivers.
tip: fire up a Linux Mint boot USb/cd, it will typically auto load a driver for wifi and help you eliminate a hardware problem. ;)
