Vertical line on screen

I have a blue iPhone 5c which i got at a good price and has been a great phone for over a year and a half. Then the screen quit responding to touch and had a screwed up-multi colors on display. I was going to fix it myself but i found a local shop which advertised doing it for $65 with new parts and labor. They told me at the time that i dropped it off that it may have a line on the display after the repair which i thought was strange. Sure enough, I got it back and it works fine except it has one green vertical line on the left hand side of display. Also a faint horizontal line towards the bottom. Do you think this is because they use cheap lcd/digitizer parts or used 5c parts? i don't know if I should get an iFixIt 5c lced assembly or try to upgrade to a newer iPhone? is it for sure that I won't have any issues like this with an iFixIt lcd assembly provided I do the repair right and have no connector problems?
