Make sure the headphones being used are completely plugged in. The headphones being partially plugged in can cause low sound quality or no sound at all. If you are still not hearing any audio after checking the plug, try using the headphones on another device. If the same issue persists, try using a different set of headphones as they might be faulty. If audio issues continue with functional headphones and they are plugged in fully, then it is possible the headphone jack might be faulty. In this case, the headphone jack probably needs to be replaced. Amazon Fire HD 10 Troubleshooting Guide

it's not working i still can't here nothing this stuff doesn't even work
Thank you. Tried several different earbuds that worked on phone, PC etc but not on the kindle. Lick did the trick.

Lick the head of the plug in and insert, for some reason the contacts are connecting very well. That did the trick.

Once I use the head phone plug thru my receiver on my tv no problem once I plug fire stick I don’t get any voice
this hack is a fail my headphones are still not working
So I have found in my new fire tablet experience (don’t know if it’s how they are designed) but I plugged my apple wired headphones in and it didn’t work, and thought let me truly another set of headphones and they worked. The only difference in the apple and regular headphones was apple has the 3 prong jack (left, right speaker, and mic), and the other headphones only 2 prong jack (left right speaker, no microphone). So maybe if it’s headphones with a mic they don’t work. Try headphones that have 2 colored lines on the jack. Hate it cause I LOVE APPLE WIRED HEADPHONES. Side note the apple AirPods work great. Fire tablet 8 doesn’t have the best sound output

check if its muted, unplug your headphones and see if there is even sound coming out of the device/

The sound comes out of the speaker when i play it but when i plug my earphones on i dont hear anything

I had same problems as yours@Fayeza Raheem..I don't know why...I can't hear anything when I plugged in my wired headphone..when I unplugged it..I can hear the sound came from speaker

I would try using a soft bristled toothbrush to clean out the 3.5mm headphone jack. I'm assuming you've tried a different set of headphones...

It seems that the headphone jack in non-functional. My earbuds work fine with my laptop. The connection feel very loose when I plug in to the tablet. I suppose there's no way to open the tablet to replace the jack.
