Unresponsive touch screen/internal antenna
My HTC One (M7) was old and need a battery exchange. After the battery exchange, I turned it on and found that the touch screen is not working. No matter where I select, the screen just does not respond. I tried to do a reset (power button down and volume button down), the phone just cycles on then off. The only way to turn it off is to hold the power button down for a long period of time. When it is ON, the touch screen is still non-responsive to touch.
I checked all connections, there is none missing. the back cover is however damaged during the opening. The internal antenna (on the back cover) is scraped by the opening tool. There are 2 connections at the back cover where it supposedly made contact with the phone. I wonder if this connection is somehow compromised and did not made proper connection when the back cover is closed.
Do you know if replacing the back cover and provide good connection will fix the problem ? It is hard to imagine that a connection with the antenna will affect the working condition of the touch screen.
Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks,
