I am wondering that too! Did you ever find out? I have exact issue where I went in the lake and it died after that.

I've since verified that it is indeed a T3 screw. My Charge fell apart, and my wife's Charge randomly stopped working. No water damage, it just died.

I thought it was the battery, so I opened both up to swap the batteries, to find it wouldn't be quite that easy...the batteries are soldered to the board. And the wires are tiny.

Earlier this evening, I got around to de-soldering the batteries so I could swap them, only to find my wife's Charge still didn't work, even with a known good battery. It was just dead.

So, I reattached the battery to my board, and installed that into my wife's band. Since it was different internals, I had to do a factory rest in order to pair the Charge with the wife's account.

Just a note, once you take the screws out, you'll likely need a spudger to finish removing the back. It was a bit of a PITA.

Also, once I got mine apart, I found that some of the screw holes in band's frame were broken. When I put it back together, I actually had to glue it shut.

Fitbit customer support are really good, i've had a couple of similar problems with my Charge HR, and after 5mins of talking to the online chat support, they have sent me replacements. Might be worth a try if they break again!

Weird, my Charge HR has Torx T2 screws.

I can confirm that it is a T3 Torx screw in the Fitbit Charge (NOT CHARGE HR). Here is a replacement battery with all of the necessary tools (including T3 Torx Screwdriver) for the repair:

Fitbit Charge and Charge HR are different beasts. My Fitbit Charge (non-replaceable wrist band) used T2.
