Home key broken of ribbon

Hi everybody. I have an iphone 6 with broken home button. As I've read that missing original home button leads to error while update I'm interested in one thing. In my case only the button is broken of the little ribbon and ribbon is still in place with its little chip in the middle on ribbon. So my question is will this ribbon connected be enough not to take my phone to error state. This may be a stupid question since I'm no tehnicion but the ribbon has a chip in the middle of it and I'm wondering is that enough not to get stuck with error while doing an update.
