When I am playing games on my Xbox my disc tray repeatedly and randomly opens then the tv goes to my xbox home screen it is very aggravating does anyone know how to fix it??

The timeing is off on the disk tray. This happens from abuse. The device has to be taken apart(this voids the warenty) and the tray has to be readjusted by hand which is extreamly hard and time consuming. Id strongly segjest a warenty repair(you will have to pay shiping) i hope this helps.

So should I just take it to Microsoft and have them fix it or can I fix it myself??
You can fix it however you will void the warenty, that is if you can take it apart. I tryed to take apart a gen one x box and could not, ended up using a sledge hammer, wood spliting ax, and set it a blaze, it still worked but i had the same trubble. It took a chain saw to get it open. So yes send it in to Microsoft.
