Bypass icloud by replacing storage?

I recently bought an iPhone 5 from craigslist, completely unaware that the activation lock was even a thing... So long story short I have an iPhone 5 with the iCloud activation lock. I tried to restore it with DFU mode because I figured that would work, but that didn't really do anything aside from un-activate it and update it to iOS 9 (I think). So my question is, with my limited knowledge of iPhones, is there a part (ie the "SSD" for the iPhone, I know it's probably called something else) I can replace to essentially make it a new iPhone? It seems to be void of all defects part from this. Thanks

Not any way at all that I'm aware of. Believe you me, I've been working on fixing this for awhile

Hmm. Apparently broken (usually battery and screen- which I have both of) iPhone 5s go for like $20-50 on eBay. I think I'll just buy one of those.. I already contacted a seller, he said that it isn't activation locked and his problem with it is the screen is broken and it won't turn on.. Optimistic!

Uhh.. Well it's a possibility. Definitely a crap shoot, if you're buying on eBay. Buy, maybe? $20 for a phone with those problems, is definitely a great deal. However, it's my experience, if things are too good to be true, there's usually a reason
