Fan is working but no display after water damage.

I left my laptop on my bed which is located just beside the window. I never thought it would rain that day so I just had it there. Although the lid cover was closed, it was on "sleep" as I normally don't shutdown my laptop. So when I got back from work the lid cover was wet with rain. So I wiped it dry completely and opened it up. After removing the back cover the battery, hdd, fan, superdrive are all DRY. However the connector coming from the display with the copper lock have signs of corrosion and the area where this connector is located on the motherboard looks a bit different from the other areas.

So what I did is I bought an electronic parts cleaner and cleaned the water damaged area using a soft brush. Then I had it air dry for 3 days, I put everything back and the power meter on the battery works. when I turned it on the fan on the motherboard works just fine but there is no display, no beep, no humming sound from the hdd either and caps lock lights don't turn on when you press on it. pressing the power button for 5 secs turns it off. thats it.

I guess the display connector and the small area around it that had water damage was the reason why it wont display anything.

Questions:

1. Where can I buy a display connector or cable? ( I don't know how its called actually).

2. The female connector on the motherboard where the male connector goes in, can that be removed and replaced by a new one?

3. Where can I buy these female display connector?

4. Overall does this have a chance to be repaired?

I will open it again when I get home so I can get some pictures of it. Any form of answer or feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

Paul Smith, lets start with the connector. IT is soldered unto the logic board. I would definitely replace it. I just recently repaired a few after water damage and all of them had shortcircuited. After that you need to check for further short circuits since you may have more damage. This could be any component in that part of the circuit, from resistor to inductors to the LED driver as well as a blown fuse. Take a look at this video, different computer same idea. For any of these repairs you will need a multimeter, the schematic and a board view for the logic board. I am certain that the Apple experts will give you more advice
