THe screen went dark, the wires are broke under the speaker housing

I reviewed the HP Mini 1000 Speaker Grill Replacement to see what wires were placed underneath it. The display data cable would probably need to be replaced. Step 29 indicates several other connections and cables and I went to the HP 1000 Service Maintenance and Service Guide to see if any other these would need to be replaced. It does not appear so.

However, there maybe several kits you need if those wires were damaged among the one you saw. They would be the speaker assembly and display cable kit on page 18. Pages 63-69 provide the documentation for the display assembly so you can verify if they are needed.
