New logic board, dim charger light and won't power on

I replaced my logic board after water got spilled on it and the other one fried. After installing the new logic board it started up fine and even charged. I left the MacBook on the table over night not connected to the charger. When I went to use it today it would not turn on and the power adapter had a dim green light.

Do I need to replace the DC MagSafe in-board or is there something else I should try before this?

I bought from macpalace and they have a pretty horrible return policy for logic boards so I hope I don't get hosed on this purchase because I will be !#^&@@.

If they are an @%^$$@$ about it just file an charge back. the reason why most places give you a hard time in returning things is because they are selling crap.

you have a smc issue. it sound like the "new" logicboard you got is defective.

return it and get it from a different supplier.

How did you come up with it being an SMC issue? Is there no other fix then to get a new one?

the SMC of your computer is what tells the charger to let the power in. something is wrong with your smc to one wire line to cause this. if you just brought a new logicboard then there is no reason for you to waste time to fix it just because they sent you a defective item.

Hi John, magsafe doesnt have a right direction to plug in. it is build with a symmetrical magnet design. Also when a magsafe is disconnected the light goes out instantly. when the charger light dims that mean something on the "one wire circuit" is shorted to ground.

Your absolutely wrong And your telling him to give up on it . I quickly hooked a1278 to run ASD last week in the middle it shut off the light went dim I went back and fasten tight -complete.

Yeah there is something you can try go back and make shure it's all tight the magsafe plug is very easy to come loose when set back in upside down. And FYI it's not always the one wire I've accidently let the plug slip to get the faint green light. You need to exhaust the easy before the hard.
