How to troubleshoot the Kindle HD
I keep getting the volume control popup. Of course it beeps real loudly. Wakes the wife when I try to read late at night. I can't remove it from my screen or reduce the volume unless I twist the case. Otherwise my kindle is working great.
I used your Tear Down Guide to disassemble it and remove the volume switch in the hopes that will fix it. Unfortunately, now I have to repair the copper tape and a wire connection that was poorly soldered. Your guide doesn't say where the volume control is run from. The switch itself is on a plastic strip that also holds the power/shut down switch.
Any suggestions how I might troubleshoot this problem to decide it it is hardware or software?
Is this a good question?
