Our iMac 20" 2133 did nothing after a close hit of Lightning
Will replacing the harddisk be of any help? If not what would?
Esta é uma boa pergunta?

Ouch! Sadly lightning often does permanent damage to the system as a whole. At this point I would speak to your insurance agent on getting the system (as well as anything else damaged) replaced.
To help prevent damage in the future during a lightning storm. Pull the power plugs out of your equipment from the outlets and if you have a modem or network connection disconnect them as well until the storm has passed.
You may want to have an electrician check your buildings grounding and wiring. It's also a good idea to have the equipment plugged into a good quality surge suppressor and/or UPS to handle power line spikes.

After you get your replacement system you might be able to recover your stuff from the drive. You'll need to take the drive out and place it into a case so you can plug it in to one of your USB ports.
Thank you, we got paid by the insurance for a small downpayment on the new iMac. Since we had a full backup I will take the harddisk to a destructor and enjoy my new 27" iMac.
