1 Why won't the new battery charge?
My daughter was in the pool for 15 minutes with her iPhone 5s so I replaced the battery. The new battery won't charge (icon only), do I need a new logic board?

There are probably board level components that are damaged from the water. You can get that fixed if you are unable to do those types of repairs.
Buying a replacement board is akin to buying a new phone. Apple doesn't make extra boards for resale. They use every board they make to make an iPhone.
