The speaker loses connection with the audio device that it is paired to when the two devices are more than 5 feet apart. This problem occurs with every device that is paired to the speaker.

More than likely the speaker's original antenna has grown weaker over time or your device came with antenna out of the box that was not up to par with the quality that it should have been.
