I have the same issue on a Kenmore Elite H4 gas dryer. No lights to control panel and no inside unit door light. My outlet too is hot so it is not house wiring.
I bought this dryer and trailered across town, 10 miles. The owner said he checked dryer before I bought and everything worked, panel lit up.
I have taken top off inspected for loos wires, and control panel board appearance. There is no melt down and the resistor canisters on board are normal size, not blown. I removed board from housing and there are no tell tail hot spots. Board looks like new, but I know you can not tell by looking. However, I do not know how to test board, Perhaps you can not, I just don't know.
I will look at thermal fuse next but doubt that is the issue as it comes in after the control board. The only thing I find on line is corroded ribbon harness conncetors, I do not think that is the issue here. I o would like to find a reset switch,, but don't think one exist. The only boot on this is to boot out the door. Let me know i you figure out what went wrong with your no power dryer, thanks, and I will do the same.
