Faulty CPU/ODD sensors or fans after Dual Drive Kit Upgrade CONTINUED

I have just done the exact same upgrade as specified here.

I did not replace my main hard drive, I added an SSD under the Optical drive as outlined in the kit's install guide.

I've checked my vertical says cable, it's in there the right way. After the install I get the CPU and ODD fans running at 3936 constantly and the ODD running at 3668 constantly. My computer is maintaining a temperature range 85° -88°. Everything is working just fine, the fans are just always on.

It's a mid 2011 27" iMac. I am at my wits end about this, especially since the kit and guide make no mention of this being an issue despite it being well documented within the "Answers" and comments of your site. Please Help!

I've reset the SMC - no luck. Issue has nothing to do with NVRAM / PRAM.

Please help a Mac Bro out!

Can you give this app a try: Temperature Gauge Pro.

Snap a screenshot and post it here for us to see the thermal sensors and the fans RPM's.

Same symptoms after SSD + new HD into a 21" mid-2011 iMac.

I tried 3 other software products, none of which worked.

BUT This one DOES work for me... CrystalIdea "Macs Fan Control" http://www.crystalidea.com/macs-fan-cont...

Free, credible vendor (AFAIK). I have it set to sensor-based temp. control and auto-run on restart. Now the fans spin up to crazy speeds on reboot and as soon as Macs Fan Control starts, they slow right down.

You can also use iStats Menus to put temperature display in the menu bar if you want to monitor the temps in your iMac.

Hope that helps Richard
