intermittent flickering on cinema display

I have a 30" cinema display that intermittently will start flickering lines like crazy.. Here's a video demonstrating the problem:

I am wondering if anyone has seen this before, and if it is the power supply? I don't want to spend $200 on a new 150w HD power supply if that's not the problem......

Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to open this model up? It's the 2006 LCD 30" version... Every link I go to on google that looks like it might be instructions turns out to be dead.

Have you checked on a different display?

If you see the same flickering on a different display it traces back to your video cables or the CPU/VGC. I'd try that test first.

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.

Well, this flickering happens with both my macpro and macbook pro.... I can't swap cables with the monitor because it appears the cables are permanently attached (unless I am missing some secret way to unplug them?)

What I meant was to plug the computer into a different monitor to ensure that the problem was with the display, not the computer. Having the problem with two different computers pretty much points to your video cables or the display. The only way to be certain you haven't damaged the cable is to replace it. Cheaper and easier than replacing the caps if that is the problem.

Does the video cable/connector look worn? Also try a different AC power cord.
