MacBook air will not power up

My daughter spilled tea on her macbook air. After a day or two it would power up while plugged in. After another couple of days, it would power up via battery and/or AC. Then a week or two later the battery would not hold a charge. I replaced the battery. When you plug it in, the light on the cord is green, showing that the new battery is fully charged. However, now it will not power up at all, regardless of the power source. I don't mind replacing another part, but I don't want to do it piece meal, and end up replacing more than I have to. Any diagnostic suggestions?

mth, by now you may have further issues related to corrosion. I would definitely stop using the MBA and remove the battery. Then you will have to disassemble it using these guides MacBook Air 13" Mid 2012 and take a good look at the logic board. Clean it with distilled water then a high grade isopropyl alcohol. Check for any burned, missing or otherwise suspicious looking components. Let us know what you find. Hope this helps, good luck
