Why can't I connect my bluetooth headphones to the Gear 2?

I am trying to connect my Gear 2 to my JayBird Bluetooth Earbuds and they keep disconnecting from the gear. The gear seems to be working fine otherwise. I have connected the earbuds under the settings portion of the gear, but each time I pair them they get disconnected.
