Little to no sound comes through the ear speaker when answering a phone call. However, the caller on the other end can hear the conversation fine.

Sounds like the ear speaker is clogged up or is on the way out. If you have had this phone for several years, dirt from use may have it clogged or just the shear use has the ear speaker going bad.

plus my phone goes to airplane modeon its own WHY?????
called samsung tech gave up , couldnt fix, HOW WILL I GET ANY HELP FROM U///////??????
i WAS ON PHONE 2 HRS YESTERDAY, HOW LONG 2DAY????????????
there are other mfgs/carriers, have life outside of samsung....thx
