Touch screen is non responsive / but if I continue to hold the icon or word - it will eventually go to the next screen. In other words it would take you over 2 hrs to setup the iphone after a factory restore - that's if it didn't automatically put you in a diff. language by default. It has a mind of it's own!!!

Try an hard reboot : hold power and home button --> Apple logo,
or restore it with iTunes..

Done that been there at least 10x - also cleaned all contacts and reseated them at least 4x... inspected logic board - don't see any chip damaged and no water damaged either!

Sounds like the digi has gone bad. Try replacing it.

Just replace the the screen and she will work no problem

I have the exact same problem after just a screen replacement. The Phone boots up, normally, however i cannot slide the button on the screen to open it - the screen is unresponsive. It is my sons phone, and I cannot sync it from iTunes since it needs a response from the phone, which i cannot do, since it is locked... I cannot change the time and date in the phone in order to get it out of the searching mode ... do I order a new screen now just to check if this the problem ?? please help, best regards Rene

If you are positive the screen connectors are seeded correctly then yes the screen is faulty
