Battery - It will work without it?

Hey Priscila, as long as you are using the correct power cable with your MacBook Pro, you shouldn't have any issues. What exactly is leaking into your computer by the way? Has it reached anything else other than your mousepad?

I have the original cable and power adapter for my macbook pro 15", early 2011 (unibody), and the battery have 77.5w instead 85w from power adapter. Is about almost 8w more, and Yesterday, before I sent it, I found some response in other link, saying that is no good to use without the battery, because one: this model have battery inside, and not removable, two: the processor will run slowly to prevent shut downs coming from the heat ( this already happening since I instaled Mavericks last year), and is the same time, the battery runs out and become a X in the same place of the battery display.

The battery leaks but when I remove it, the leak aas reagrouped in one side os the battery and frozen in that way, so in the lasts two months, my mouse pad came from inside to outside a little part of, and still works for everything, but for hold down and hear the click, was not possible anymore. So I suspected was about some leak, I decided to remove.

New batteries will not be for sale in Brazil and I will hava to send it to support. It will take weeks to put a new one, but the problem is the price of everything in Brazil. Tree times more than in the united states. And this problem will continuing appear, since this battery and model looks like happening a lot.

So I want to know if someone with this same model, knows, if is possible to use without the battery, just with the original power and cable, and if it will not affect other parts, or burns something inside, and I will lose the entire computer....lol, this is out of the question. One new here, today, in brazilian money will cost abour R$7.000,00!!
