Reattaching digitizer screen assembly

Hello,

Okay I know this is kind of dumb, but I just broke 2 brand new touch screens, so I thought I'd ask.

I got the screen off and fixed the issues in the ipod, felt happy at my achievement and was just snapping it together to put the icing on the cake and *crack. Two times. I think one of the pins got bent and was in the way, thus cracking the screen when I applied pressure. But before I give it another go, I thought I'd ask of any tricks?

What seemed like the easy part is now terrifying, I can take it apart easier than I can put it back together..
