didn't turn on, no flash leds

Hi,

thank you very much for your work and your effort to allow us how to fix our devises. I have a gopro Hero 3 and after using a wrong cable to recharge it, the gopro could not restart properly. I found out that the battery was out of use and I purchased a new one. After attending to start the gopro with the new battery, the devise didn't turn on, no flash leds ider, well just nothing happened. I guessed that while using the wrong cable which damage the battery it may have been a component of the gopro which has been damage too. I thought about a fuse eventually.

After searching for it and finding this topic, I was happy that you show the photo of the card showing the fuse. I opened my gopro and found out that your card was different than mine.... I know it is hard to guess what are the component but if someone can just take a look and let me know if their is any fuse.....

Nicolas, check the components circled in red. Those do carry markings that is common for SMD fuses. the one closest to the post looks crocked as well. Make sure it is still properly soldered in place.

wouaaaah,

thank you very much for your prompt reply this is just wonderful. So componnents with a 0 are fuses. I will try to find out if both must be changed or not.

I will keep you posted.

Again, thank you very much for your support.

Regards,

Nicolas

PS: How can I found out the complete references for these fuses?

You are welcome and thank you for accepting my answer. Yes, those do look like fuses. Use a meter to check for continuity. To find out which value they have, we would have to either get our hands on a schematic and/or a known good board and measure those fuses that are found to be good.

Hi used a meter to test both of them. I am not familiar with this tool so I prefer to report you the mesures.

I set up the meter on 200 holms and for both fuse, it shows me a mesure of 1,2 / 1,3. So I guess it means that the fuse are still ok.... Your explaination and comments will be appreciated.

Thank you again for your time and assistance.

All you need to do is to check for continuity. I do not know which meter you have but this is similar on all. Set your multimeter to the correct mode. Look for the icon that looks like a sound wave or a Wi-Fi connection indicator. If you can't find it refer to the manual you received with the multimeter. Some meter you set to X1K ohm and see if the needle moves when you touch the two probes together.

- Touch one of the probes off one of the points you are checking.

- Touch the other probe off the other point.

- If you hear a beep or a buzz, there is an electric connection between the two points. Or of course if the needle on the meter moves. Again, each meter is a bit different.
