Can I swap the entire display assemblies?
I have both laptops, both are A1286, one states it clearly so on the bottom, the other the number rubbed off, but I verified it with its serial number, Apple's website and MacTracker. One is EMC 2457 and the other EMC 2353. I believe the Early 2011 has the higher res screen. I see that the various antenna cables are different lengths. I can also see that the bluetooth boards are similar and I can interchange them physically, so the board with the different cables follows the display assembly. The display cable at the other end has the same pin configuration on both, but I know nothing more then that. The screws are all in the same places too, on both display assemblies. I have found web sites, that say you can't interchange the high-res and low-res, then other sites that say if the connectors fit, you can.
Can I swap the displays?
Esta é uma boa pergunta?

Do they both still work? Any chance you can get the numbers of the LCD panels? I think this is the way to find out ;)
Launch the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/) Copy and paste the following command onto a single line and hit return: ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6
Let us know what the numbers are so that we can hopefully verify the compatibility

Well, I'll be dipped. They are the same model, "LP154WP4-TLA1,
Color LCD." ...and that is one crazy *nix command. I couldn't follow all of it. :) So question answered. If they fit, and the model is the same, they can be swapped.
Thanks!
