The screw release for the battery no longer releases the battery... Just turns back and forth, not moving the two metal tabs that keep it in place. Short of whipping out the dremmel, does anyone have an idea on how I can get it out? I need to do a teardown on it and clean out the fan (cats...) - I also might want to upgrade the memory on it to 4gb...

You'll have to force a pop out of the round turning knob with a small flat jeweller screwdriver to access the locking mechanism. Naturally it will probably damage the bottom case and there's no warranty you can repair it so ebay is your best friend for a used bottom case replacement.
