Unplug Power Cable from laptop. Press and hold Power Button and at the same time plug in Power Cable. Release Power button once laptop lights up. It will continue to run on AC power. I recall old phones with removable batteries did the same. I guess manufacturers thought that was the best way to start portable devices back then?
