Look for any broken wires and stuff like that because damaged wires can cause overheating of the power adapter. Also if none of these work then it would just be the power supply channel, if your using some extension cord or stuff like that, make sure that the power rating matches the one of your product. If it is underrated then it would pose potential risk + overheating.
Beware of the following checks, check the temperature of the power adapter (if touchable) and see if it is feasible. Check for melting supply case, if it is, you sure need to power it off and have a proper check on it.
