I need help identifying possible causes and solutions.
# It stopped being usable on Windows 8.1: when plugged, Windows would attempt to install its drivers (although it's plug and play) and return the balloon message of not installed properly and/or unrecognized device. Wouldn't even show up in printers and other hardware like it used to. It would flash the light for about 1 second (apparently when I pressed the vibration button to make it react).
# Plugging it into another USB port would not change.
# Now it does not even make Windows try to install anything and the light does not flash.
# It seems to conflict with USB mouse and USB keyboard, making it stop working and having to restart Windows to make those peripherals function again.
# Tested also in another computer where it used to work, in Windows 7, and there is no reaction.
# Tested with Linux Mint to make sure the problem is not the operating system and it does not work either and it is not even detected (tried the ``lsusb`` command).
# The cable seems fine (visually) and in the circuit board cannot notice (visually) any damage, only:
## some dirt;
## some excessive glue;
## some varnish-looking coating (transparent glue?) around some solder;
## some rust (or is it just dirt) on the vibration and analog parts.
# I tried the official website ([link|https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024786233-Rumblepad-2|https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articl...|new_window=true]) and there is no documentation about this old product. I asked for any offline documents they could have through chat costumer support but was left with void after the human member told me I would be transferred to my region's chat.
# I have searched for anything I could find and there is only these pages that can be used for comparing my photos with a working and clean device (the links are from the translated pages):
