Would replacing LCD fix backlight issue?

Texto:

My phone got moisture inside a dry bag that got a leak, it was not submerged but it started flashing on and off and shut off. I turned on again and I turned it off but then again. I was fiddling with it and the apple logo came back twice and then shut off.
[br]
I could get calls, I am able to power off the phone by sliding my finger over the screen and answer the call by sliding the slider just guessing where the slider is.
-I have been reading here and it seems the backlight might be shorted? If I replace the LCD screen with a new one, would this take care of the issue? I hear about people soldering something on the mother board or the screen, etc. Do I really need to do this or would replacing the LCD take care of the issue?
