If you have an error 7 , your harddrive most likely died.  The only fix is to use the eeprom to build a new drive.

If you never modded your xbox and backed up the eeprom , the only way to retrieve it is with an eeprom reader.   http://www.instructables.com/id/XBox-EEPROM-ReaderWriter/
