Ok, finally fixed my tablet!!!!
So, turns out I had inadvertently lifted a miniscule clip that was also attached to the battery. So not the battery colored wires, but the ZIF connectors. (to see a clear photo of these see this link [guide|36640]).
At any rate, I was about to remove my battery to "jump start" it, but turns out the tiny flap on the ZIF connectors had been lifted ever so slightly. All along the battery was fine!!!
If in the process of trying to trouble shoot your tablet issues you may have touched any other areas of the battery this could be your problem too. Or, maybe it just popped up on its own. Worth a try...
